Making a Change

TO THE THS ENVIRONMENT

This site will help you work through the process of making a change to the THS environment.

The site is divided up into three areas; preparing, the build & finishing up.

Select a heading below to find out more.

Preparing

Step 1

The first step is understanding the architecture of THS. At its time of construction it was innovative and a lot of those principles around community and inclusion are highly valid today.

Working out the design; why, what, how, who, when.

Working with the THS community agreed design principles.

As in any environment you need to seek approval at many different levels. This section guides you through how to seek approval.

THS is an Education NSW managed facility and thus any change has to meet the obligations to policies that they have defined.

THE BUILD

Step 2, once designed, approved & obligations meet...

Any change creates risk to people and the environment. This section helps you identify risks.

Organising the workers/contractors that will make the change and ensuring they understand the identified risks.

finishing up

Step 3, completing the build

Has the work been completed as per the design and identified obligations.

The change lives on beyond the initial build. This section helps you handover the project to the people that will manage/maintain it.
